Gladstone High School

Opportunity
Gladstone School District wanted to create a "proof of performance" video showcasing its commitment to sustainability through the design and remodel of Gladstone High School. Funding for this project was included in a $40-million bond package passed by Gladstone voters in 2006.

Our Creative Approach
Gladstone High School developed a curriculum around environmental sustainability, and that curriculum drove the School's design and construction. To bring the interconnectedness of form and function together, we recommended telling this story through the personal experiences of the people involved in the project.

Producer Holly Paige conducted on-camera interviews with architects, district officials, teachers, students, and community leaders. These interviews formed the story's narrative. Director of Photography Wayne Paige captured images showing the school's design elements, and showed how teachers and students are using the building as a learning tool. Wayne also served as Editor on the project and delivered the final video in DVD and online formats.

Results
District officials have posted this video on the district's website. They are also incorporating the video in their presentations to regional and national education conferences.
